Highlights:
Cigarettes at the Lima Airport are $2 a pack.
They have pictures of mouth cancer and tell you how many mg of nicotine, carbon monoxide and some other chemical are in them.
Reds have 10 mg of CM and the other chemical and only 0.6 mg of nicotine...gross.
I also bought some Coca Tea - 25 tea packets for $3..awesome.
The store also had a microwave in the back so the 2 ladies let me make some and I chatted with them about some things for a good bit.
I was too worn down to notice any real effects of the tea yet..
Stepping off the plane in Iquitos, there were a couple planes with mud and shit all over them, it reminded me of some kind of intense jungle expedition from the 70s or something.
I took a moto-taxi (motor-trike) with a woman who works for the Temple, buys the food and various things they need from Iquitos.
I was trying to communicate in Spanish with her while the driver is driving just as you imagine they do in South America. Mainly, the on-coming traffic lane is also the passing lane. So I was trying to take in the sights of the city while being driven more crazy then I've even driven, while speaking a language I barely know. ..overwhelming. But I was loving it.
Brian takes me into the Rainforest to the Temple tomorrow..
Hopefully I can find the Orange Bowl on TV or online. haha.
ATWTU.
